Kerrie Dalman is President of the Colorado Education Association, the state affiliate of the NEA. She’s also head honcho of Southwest TURN, a branch of the metastasizing cancer eating away at the NEA and AFT.
Yesterday, Kerrie had a guest commentary in the Denver Post, pumping the virtues of CorpEd’s commercial surveillance and storage of student data.

Southwest Teacher Union Reform Network Sponsors Results for Students Conference
Nov 06, 2011
On November 5, hundreds of educators from across the metro area came together for a Results for Students Conference focused on expanded student learning time.
The conference was sponsored by the Southwest Teacher Union Reform Network (SW TURN), which is focused on improving results for students by ensuring that every student has a quality teacher, that teachers have the ability to provide a 21st century education so students can compete in the global economy, and that all stakeholders including teachers, students, parents, policymakers and community members are accountable for student results.
The conference participants learned about new and creative ways to use time more efficiently at the classroom, building and district level. “Given that we are in a school funding crisis, and the expectations for student achievement are high, we need to take a careful look at how we use our time with students. If we can use our resources more efficiently, we owe that to our students so that we can continue to provide a 21st Century Education” said Kerrie Dallman, JCEA President and leader in SW TURN.Presenters included Joe Rull and Emily Raine of the National Center on Time and Learning and Furman Brown, Founder and Executive Director of Generation Schools. Both organizations are currently engaged with schools in the Denver metro area.
The metro associations/unions who are members of SW TURN include: Aurora Education Association, Boulder Valley Education Association, Cherry Creek Education Association, Colorado Springs Education Association, Denver Classroom Teachers Association, District 12 Educators’ Association, Douglas County Federation of Teachers, Jefferson County Education Association, Littleton Education Association, Westminster Education Association
SW TURN also includes locals from Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, Nevada and New Mexico though they will not be in attendance at this conference.

Article Discussion: InBloom enables great teaching tools
by geuxteacher on July 19th, 2013, 9:44 am #3092759
It would be wise to look further into Ms. Dallman’s associations when considering her position on the efficacy of inBloom. My first response however is that Ms. dallman has not used the proposed services that inBloom and its affiliate service providers claim to be offered as they have not been made available as yet. And it appears she won’t be practicing what she preaches for at least the two years she serves while out of the classroom and funded by her position with the union and Aspen Institute to do their bidding. . As in much of the new “reform” rhetoric, it sounds wonderful . Rhetoric it is. I have quite a few more years of experience and qualifications on Ms. Dallman that have caused me to research thoroughly before jumping on this or any other bandwagon of promises that in the end will pad the pockets of hedge fund investors seeking to profit off the backs of children in the “business” of education. As you reserch these links note the quote on the Belwether site from “Future Shock.” Appropriate material for building an education agenda?!!

She is one of two Colorado teachers selected for the Aspen Teacher Leader Fellows program, a cohort working to strengthen and improve the profession of teaching and the educational outcomes of America???s K-12 students.

My best to Ms. Dalllman but before she drinks anymore Koolaid, she might consider researching some of the Aspen and Belwether partners. Then again, maybe she has.
If Ms. Dallman does not know what she is doing, she acts as if she does. Thanks for your insights.
Why do you guys pay her? She’s not supporting the union at all. Worthless, and has been all along.
