As Shaun pointed out earlier, Seattle superintendent Jose Banda had a small typo in his released statement regarding the actions taken by Garfield high school teachers’ Opt Out of the MAP.
My turn.
“In the meantime, MAP remains a required element of our overall student testing process. We expect school staff to fulfill their responsibilities and obligations to administer this test in a timely manner. Principals, I am asking for your leadership in ensuring the required MAP tests are completed by Feb. 22 in accordance with current district practice.”
Notice the bold type (not added by me). Is this the first attempt by the “powers that be” to silence the voice of the bold and courageous teachers standing up for their students and giving a voice to teachers all across the country?
